The Daily Grind的点评
点评：Whilst visiting the area for a few weeks, a friend suggested having coffee at The Daily Grind.
Upon entering, the friendly staff enlightened us as to what was available to have with our coffee.
As luck would have it, a fresh batch of English style blueberry scones…so light and fluffy…but cut in the traditional Canadian wedges, had just come out of the oven.
We three chose to have scones with out coffee, and were bowled over with the choice. They were delicious.
We had a delightful three hours chatting over our coffee and scones.
A very artistic gardener or decorator had made several large living wall pictures with moss and plants, and highlighted with tiny lights. Others were amazing displays of driftwood and plants.
My eyes shot out of my head when I noticed home made pies and pasties in their display fridge.
I had not seen a Cheese and Onion Pastie since I was in Cornwall in the UK.
The Chicken and Vegetable Pies looked delectable.
I had to take two of each home for later.
When I tried one of the pies, it was amazing. The pastry was as light as a feather, and the filling so tasty. The best pie I have ever had, and I am an Aussie with a British background, so that is saying a lot.
The pasties were yummy too.
I was so excited about the pastries that I had to go back a few days later and get more. This time I had some smashing Spicy Pumpkin Pie and cream with my latte.
Two more pies found their way home.
One of my local friends has never been to this business, so I am taking her next week, along with a wonderful neighbour.
The staff are all wonderful, and the restaurant is spotlessly clean with ample comfortable seating and bathroom facilities.
