点评:A very very disappointing dinner. Unfortunately, I am unable to give it lower than One Star.
We booked for dinner at Cornerstone for Saturday night after being recommended by a friend.
When we arrived, we were shown to our table. Now, if someone books a dinner for two, it would usually mean a couple, friends or similar.
But seating a table for two, right next to a table of 20 people there for a child’s birthday party should not happen.
To start off, it was noisy as hell and I understand that we no longer have social distancing, but how many people can you cram into one place. After we received our entrees, which I do admit were tasty (Arancini Balls and Polenta Chips), the table of 20 +, decided to take photos of the birthday girl, so we had a long line of people standing in the space between their table and our table (which is approx. 1 meter). This went on for over 30 minutes with our main courses coming during the long line of people either taking photos or waiting to have their photo taken with the birthday girl. I should mention, from the time we sat down, kids from the table were running around non-stop.
I don’t know about you, but trying to eat when peoples backsides are at face level with you is not very pleasurable and the pushing and bumping of our table every few seconds made us decide to call it quits, leave our meals and just leave. Plus trying to put food in your mouth with a fork was risky with all the bumping.
We went up to the counter and the cashier asked us how everything was. I told her how everything was. Then came over another lady who advised she was one of the managers and the issue was explained to her as well. She then called over some man and it was once again explained to him.
His response was, why didn’t I say something. Firstly, I couldn’t get up due to the amount of people gathered around the area with no respect for other diners and secondly, you as the Restaurant Owner/Manager should realise that you should not put a table for two right next to a large group there for a birthday party. I also mentioned to him that I was not complaining just to try and get a discount or a free meal. Once I said this, he looked at the cashier and his exact words were “ Just charge him full price” and then walked off. We paid the full bill and left. Never again.
As mentioned above. A very disappointing dinner and a waste of a Saturday night. Never again will I be dining here or recommending it to anyone.
