Clongibbon House Restaurant and Bar的点评
点评：We’ve been going to this bar for years and always met with lovely helpful staff and very good food. However, this evening, having travelled in excess of 20 miles to this venue we asked the waitress if we could order a mini grill as opposed to the full mixed grill on the menu as we are elderly and unable to eat large meals, having been told on many occasions by various staff members that this was in order and no problem, and as usual the lady was lovely and never voiced any problem with this only to be approached by a stern woman whom we later discovered was the owner, as the food was served, that we were not to return next week and order a mini grill as its not stated on the menu and the kitchen staff were unable to cope with it…..which I must say was confusing as they weren’t unable to cope with a full mixed grill??
Her attitude was so confrontational and very upsetting. With hindsight we should have just left but we were so unprepared for it we were stunned and needless to say did not relish the food after that, had the waitress told us it wasn’t possible we would have understood but to be literally told not to return because of the order was certainly over the top I think, we felt like criminals over the mini grill.
She certainly will not need to worry about our return (after at least 15 years going there) the very name Clongibbon is enough to turn our stomachs.
Surely people who are not people persons should not be in hospitality, she lets the entire sector down at a time when they claim they are struggling, she certainly isn’t so that’s all that matters to her.
Sad to be leaving this venue behind, genuinely lovely staff there.
