点评:If you care about Japanese cuisine and how it’s represented, then there is no reason on this earth to eat at Sunrice Sushi.
To start the panko crusted calamari rings had been fried to the point of basketball rubber. At one point I felt I might have broken a tooth on the breading. This was a first for me. They had also come pre-frozen from a food service company and had not been made in-house.
The panko chicken udon soup had an insipid pre-fab dashi stock and mushy udon noodles. The chicken, completely unseasoned, had also been over-fried and here it was clear that they hadn’t changed the oil since they opened four weeks ago. It was bitter and old.
Next came the sushi and maki rolls. These were the largest, thickest rolls I’ve seen and this is in no way traditional Japanese cuisine. These things were large enough to rest your feet on. However I didn’t get to them because of the first three bites of different nigiri sushi. Each contained a long 8-10 inch strand of hair which happened to match that of the “sushi chef”.
When each bite of nigiri has a long strand of hair, your stomach churns. I feel nausea writing this. FYI, I had the sushi as a takeaway.
Everything got thrown out.
This is sick making and when a restaurant like this opens and clearly has no talent in the kitchen and is not interested in serving, at the very least “good food” it raises a whole slew of questions as to the function of the enterprise. Dreadful.
