点评:We booked Puerto Manjar 2 days in advance during our stay at Vidanta to get a table at sunset. The restaurant is on the beach, with a beautiful view of the mountains and the sea. Yes, the sunset is gorgeous, but the service was wonderful too.
Our servers, Daniel and Miguel, were excellent. Daniel helped us determine which meals to choose. He sent over the mixologist, a knowledgeable woman who came to the table with a bar cart and helped us craft cocktails to our liking.
Our group had the salmon and the grilled catch of the day, which could be prepared in multiple ways: one of us chose garlic and butter, and another selected spicy red sauce. We shared sides of grilled veggies and grilled brussel sprouts. All were very, very good.
The beach shades were raised at sunset to allow diners to capture the vista from the restaurant.
But the most exciting part of the meal were the flambé desserts prepared table side. I had ordered a Mexican coffee, a combination of liqueurs, cinnamon coffee and sugar. What I did not expect was the spectacular preparation by Miguel, lighting two metal carafes ablaze and mixing the alcohols by deftly pouring fire between the sauce boat pitchers. We also ordered a flambé mango tart and Manuel gave another fire performance.
The entire service from drinks to dessert was attentive, gracious, delicious and quite memorable. I highly recommend Puerto Manjar at Vidanta. We will be coming back.
