图兰玛利亚海酒店 - 限成人入住的点评
点评：When it was new, Maria Del Mar boutique hotel and spa would have been gorgeous. You can imagine its former glory. Now however it is old and in desperate need of maintenance. The photos advertising this hotel are from days gone by.
Maria Del Mar hotel is a series of contradictions, with clean rooms and a good restaurant, alongside a pool that was dirty for our first 3 days and even after a clean, didn’t look inviting (during our 6 day stay we never saw anyone swim in it). The timber throughout the hotel, particularly on the stairs and boardwalks, is faded, subsiding and in some places completely rotten. One deck was replaced during our stay. It must have been very dangerous, as many of the decks need replacing.
The fan in our room creaked incessantly, so was better left off. Fortunately, there is an a/c unit to cool the room down. Towels and sheets are only replaced every 3 days for environmental reasons, but the towels simply didn’t well dry between uses and need more regular changing. And, don’t bother trying the hairdryer as it only occasionally worked.
The ocean viewing platform which includes the “spa” is tired and looks abandoned. Old rain soaked books sit in a water damaged and rotting cupboard and the remnants of a massage area sit forlornly.
One saving grace was the staff who were friendly.
We came to Maria Del Mar from a lovely hotel in Mexico City, so were disappointed to be paying more for substantially less quality.
This is a 3 star hotel masquerading as something better. Think twice before booking here.
