Disappointing experience and false advertising

点评：We booked a whale shark tour with Baja charters a few weeks ago and were really looking forward to the “luxury” experience. The night before our trip, our whale shark tour was cancelled because the park was closed. We later learned from our guide Dalia that this has been happening regularly this season (no mention of this when we booked for over $800).
Instead of the whale shark tour we were given a swim with a sea lion tour and a tour of Espiritu Santo Island. Little did we know this was actually just going to be a 6+ hour boat trip on a disgusting, smelly boat. Eventually we did snorkel, but only for 30 minutes and with extremely cheap life jackets on that choked you in the water. One couple had to get out of the water after a minute because they couldn’t breathe.
After this we were expecting a tour of the island as described on their website (snorkeling at different beaches, hiking around the island, observing different rock formations). Of course we saw none of this and headed straight back to the marina. When I asked a crew member about this they seemed confused and told me no. Later, this same crew member told me that we were stopping at a beach. But then we never did and the crew member didn’t acknowledge it. It seems like there’s a real lack of communication between the front office people and the tour people.
We feel ripped off by Baja Charters. Not only did we not get to see the whale sharks (what we came for), we were stuck sitting on a boat for 6+ hours, and lied to by Christine about the Espiritu Santo island tour. Don’t waste your money here if you are looking forward to snorkeling and outdoor activities.
