点评:For those who have watched the Street Food Asia episode about Yogyakarta on Netflix, you will have seen the famous jajan pasar made by Mbah Satinem.
We visited on a Tuesday and arrived around 5 minutes to 5 am - there was already one customer waiting ahead of us. A man arrived about 15 mins later and handed us a red ticket which had our number in the queue (2). Make sure to get your number as soon as you arrive.
Once Mbah Satinem arrives, she begins to set up with the help of her daughter and starts serving customers around 5.20 am.
Ordering was a bit tricky since we don't speak Indonesian. I found a good guide online written by a foreigner (google it), but it turns out the menu items had already changed (except the main item lupis) so the Indonesian customer in front of us also kindly helped us to translate (there will almost definitely be English-speaking Indonesians in the line who will glad to assist).
The sweets were delicious and earthy exactly as the show described, and the experience overall was really special and local. Definitely a must visit if you're in Yogyakarta and can wake up early!
Note that she has a day off on Monday so the store is closed.

Mbah Satinem
