Tropical Waves Water Sports的点评
点评：I had a deeply disappointing and frustrating experience with Tropical Waves in Turks and Caicos, and I would strongly advise others to avoid this company.
We rented a half-day boat for $1,500—an exorbitant price—but were assured beforehand that the boats were in “like new” condition. We were also promised a pick-up at 12:30 p.m. for our 1:00 p.m. rental. However, we were picked up 45 minutes late at 1:15 p.m., already cutting into our rental time.
After a lengthy drive, we were dropped off at a shady, rundown beach where the boat was located. The boat itself was a major letdown. Despite being told the equipment was in excellent condition, it was anything but. The fuel gauge didn’t work, none of the other gauges worked, and the emergency system was nonfunctional. To make matters worse, there was no depth finder or essential safety equipment—an absolute must when boating in unfamiliar waters. The boat was old, tired, and far from the condition promised.
Safety protocols were nonexistent. When we boarded, the staff asked, “Have you ever been on a boat before?” That was the extent of their “safety briefing.” Fortunately, we have boating experience, but I can’t imagine how unsafe this would be for someone without it.
The experience was so unenjoyable that we returned after just one hour and asked for a refund. After much back-and-forth, they promised to refund half the money. However, it took three weeks of chasing them, during which they claimed their “bank had an issue,” before I finally had to involve my credit card company to stop the payment. Only then did they refund half the amount.
Tropical Waves operates with shady practices, subpar equipment, and no regard for safety. Save yourself the stress, disappointment, and money—do not rent from this company.
