Visiting Aruba and family decided to try family owned restaurant- Driftwood for Seafood.
I had made a reservation for a party of 4 for our evening dinner to which we had arrived 15mins ahead of scheduled reservation dinner. The hostess walked my family and I to our table to be seated. However, another server by name of Lando decided to make a scene and chastise myself for not allowing my wife to be seated ahead of myself (Video Enclosed). I had asked to speak with the manager by the name of Maria however she was attending to another matter. There was another gentleman to whom was managing to whom I expressed my dissatisfaction to Lando’s confrontation in a professional restaurant environment and how as a patron Lando’s unprofessional acumen was an embarrassment. The restaurant’s hospitality was completely wrong and I say to anyone considering visiting this establishment to stay far away. I did not order dinner to give patronage to the establishment as a result. Coming from a Hospitality background there are ways to speak to a patron ie, speak in private aside. Not in a public environment as Landon did.
To conclude, Driftwood had taken an opportunity to which they could have shined with their service and hospitality but because of the unprofessionalism of one server “Landon” they FAILED in doing so. Let this be a lesson to other establishments not just in Aruba 🇦🇼 in general.
