点评：I was in a party of five people who visited Jaxx International Grill at Movie Towne in Georgetown, Guyana on 1st July at 3:30pm.
We ordered a round of cocktails and fries for everyone in the group and was satisfied with the service and food at this point.
Later, I requested a caipirinha cocktail which when served I found much too sweet to consume. I let the waitress know and asked if it could be replaced. The cocktail was then replaced with one that was ‘watered-down’ and bared no resemblance to a caipirinha. Again, I reported the issue to the waitress who appeared frustrated so I calmly stated that I would not be consuming the drink and instead requested a bottle of water.
Irrespective of the problem with the cocktail, our party mulled over the menu to order our main meal. The four adults in the group settled for the Teriyaki chicken and coconut rice dish, while a kid’s cheese pizza was ordered for the child in our group.
On arrival the meal looked good, but after one bite of the Teriyaki chicken we were all struck by the saltiness of the food. The salt content was so high that every person that ordered it was unable to eat it. I called the closest waitress to our table to report the issue and she went to get the manager.
I reported the issues we experienced with the food, both the sweet / watered-down cocktail and the extremely salty Teriyaki chicken meal. The manager claimed that they have not had similar reports about the saltiness of the Teriyaki chicken so he thought it might just be a bad batch prepared. He was apologetic and suggested they would remove both the Teriyaki chicken meal and the caipirinha cocktail from the bill.
When we requested the bill, the meal was taken off but to our utter dismay, we were charged several times for the 5 fries we ordered, including 2 additional small fries we did not order. We also noticed that our mocktails (non-alcoholic cocktails) were more expensive than the cocktails in some instances and there was a service charge added to the bill, despite the poor quality of the food / drink served.
We deduced that the bill was purposedly altered to compensate for the four Teriyaki dishes and the caipirinha cocktail that were not consumed and returned (see attached original bill). Our original bill of GY$35774 was then reduced to GY$18,525 after we raised our objections and made clear to the manager how disappointed we were at the poor service and fraudulent bill. I personally hold the manager responsible for what I construe to be procurement fraud and unethical behaviour. I am utterly disappointed and dismayed at the treatment we received and while some of our party live abroad, those who are local have pledged to never return to the restaurant.
I sincerely hope that you will treat this letter of complaint as a serious matter related to procurement fraud and investigate thoroughly as this is unacceptable!
