点评:U Pick Farm …Today I experienced some of the most substandard service I have ever had in Trinidad.
👎🏽 Cold food
👎🏽a giddy, slow and unprofessional waitress
👎🏽wait time to receive meals in excess of an hour
👎🏽mixed up orders and forgotten drinks and side orders
👎🏽a charge for hot water with lemon and
👎🏽 condescension and prejudiced undertones from someone claiming to be the owner of the establishment.
When I raised the issue of the cold food, the alleged owner’s response was: “that was not possible”, her reasoning was that she brought the food to the table herself (perhaps her hands are hot plates) 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️, or did she think that 7 persons with different orders couldn’t tell the difference between hot and cold food? 🤔🤔🤔🤔
When I raised the issue of the $7 charge for the hot water and lemon, I was advised by the alleged owner that hot water and lemon was not a “service” she provided and the lemon had to be paid for. (This could have been shared when the order was placed…..just saying) 😑
She also mentioned that if I had not noticed, they don’t serve water because when people ask for water, they use bottled water and not tap. (I never asked about that 🤷🏽♀️)
No apology was offered for the cold food, giddy waitress, mixed up orders, forgotten side dishes 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️. Nada
Instead she (the alleged owner) attempted to explain to me the concept of farm to table….because of course she assumes that I would have no notion of same. 😑
In retrospect, the error was mine, because I was operating under the false premise that the restaurant was about service and ensuring that paying customers were having a positive experience.
I forgot that service in T&T is second to “who yuh know”, “who know u” respect and other values.
I forgot that far too often in T&T we let these poor service experiences slide.
The “service” (rather the unrepentant LACK of same) @U Pick Farm wreaked of all the ISMS I despise and will not condone.
The contemptuous 10% offered off the bill was beside the point.
A simple apology for the abysmal service and cold food would have sufficed.
In T&T we have an ill conceived notion about there being a correlation between money and class. There is ABSOLUTELY no relationship between these things.
The alleged owner forgot the basic principles of customer service so for this and a few other things @ U Pick Farm - an EPIC fail. 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽😑😑😑😑😑😑
