点评：Den Tichel is your typical Flemish brasserie/tavern and the meals are ok.
Sadly though the balance tilts heavily in the other direction because of the following points.
1) The garden seating and surroundings are decripit and need some urgent refurbishing.
2) Smokers everywhere! Even while you are eating. Rather disgusting.
3) The restaurant's cold storage isn't adjacent to the kitchen but in the garden. Yeah, you read that right. So kitchen staff is constantly running on and off with food between kitchen and storage. Hygiene? Not convinced.
4) Not really on par with the pricing for such an establishment. Overpriced.
5) You are here to play the waiting game, and a heavy one this is. We should have left sooner so that is on us but we ended up waiting an hour and 20 minutes for our meal ! And when asking the staff they only replied with 'There are other guests as well'. What? Not even a simple sorry? Hospitality clearly wasn't checked off the list when opening this place. Ridiculous.
Flanders is drowning in brasseries/taverns. Even on a bad day, you could find better.
