点评：We stayed in the Le Grand Courlan approx., 6 years ago and thoroughly enjoyed out stay. It was no different this time, in fact it may have even been better. Having read other reviews, it seems that expectations are 5 star when it is clearly advertised 3 star. The staff both on reception and in the breakfast room were attentive and extremely helpful. We especially loved the chef and his superb Tobagonian breakfasts. Fresh local food and service with a smile from the lovely girls serving us each morning. There were not many people staying at the hotel and this was a big bonus for us. We loved the exclusivity of the place (we also realise that for the hotel they would much prefer to have lots of people in residence, we hope this will be the case for them in time to come). We were really made to feel at home and relaxed. If we had a request it was dealt with in a timely manner. Lounging by the pool with only the sound of birds and the crashing waves for company was perfect and my husband and I were celebrating our 23rd anniversary so it felt very special to have the pool some afternoons all to ourselves. This location is an ideal spot for anyone who does not like the trappings of a commercialised hotel, too many people and organised activities. We would love to thank all the staff for their kind, helpful approach and for making our holiday very special indeed. A special thank you for allowing us to have the same room on the top floor, for amazing views, as we had stayed in 6 years ago. All hotels since Covid have been struggling with maintenance issues and occupancy. Despite this Le Gran Courlan are making a great job of welcoming guests and making the most of what revenue they have to provide a great holiday in a stunning location. No-one can expect them to provide a full staff when there are few people staying in the hotel. Closing and not maintaining the pool bar for example made perfect business sense to us. Our recommendation would be to soak up the beautiful location, walk the unspoilt beach, marvel at the spectacular sunsets each evening and smile at the staff. Instead of looking at peeling paint in some areas, or maintenance updates in others, celebrate the beautiful surroundings and the peaceful slice of paradise that is Stonehaven Bay.
