点评：Booked for Sunday lunch specifically for carvery as had seen so many good reviews. On arrival no one greats you. It’s a case of having to queue for 10 minutes at the bar to be told your table isn’t ready yet but would you like drink in meantime. There’s no where to sit you have to stand there dripping wet from rain whilst others pile in the same with nowhere to go. When we got shown to our table, navigating the crowds we were stuck in a corner in a very noisy conservatory which was packed as it could possibly be. It wouldn’t have been possible to get another table in there! We constantly had people going past our table shifting chairs and high chairs, we felt like we were in the middle of the M4 not out for a nice lunch on our wedding anniversary!
Onto the meal itself. Someone came to take our order. When we said we were having the carvery it was just “oh help yourself then” rather abruptly no thanks or anything. The carvery itself was ok but for the price I had expected better given I’ve had two courses and similar quality (and better)elsewhere for same cost. No one ever offered drinks throughout meal or asked if everything was ok, in fact apart from being seated and the “oh help yourself comment” the only other communication was “would you like the dessert menu?” We refused it as we’d had enough of the noise level and traffic going past the table. As we left I noticed gravy on the floor and pointed it out to two members of staff being concerned someone may slip. However they again didn’t thank me just said “oh it needs cleaning up”. Well I knew that!
So unfortunately we won’t be back as don’t like being packed in like cattle and roasted (it was really hot in there) and prefer our is left for the meat on our plates.
