点评:What used to be one of the main highlights of any Gozo trip, is slowly becoming a very disappointing experience. These last 4/5 years we had to resort to booking only on weekdays so as to expect a better product as we've had pretty disappointing experiences on weekends. However we ordered during the week in late July 2022 and the ftajjar were VERY disappointing. The open ones tasted pre-cooked and warmed up slightly before pick-up. Almost all ftajjar (we had quite a sizeable order) were bone-dry and looked over-cooked. Crust was shambolic (in Maltese; "galletta") and comparing the sizes with previous year, the ftajjar were a good 15% smaller than they used to be. What used to be the anchovies ftira, barely had a glimpse of anchovy. What used to be the most-sought culinary product in Gozo, is slowly becoming a very disappointing tourist trap. I understand and I am aware that demand increased astronomically in the last few years, and I have nothing against increasing prices but Maxokk needs to have a good look at the mirror and re-focus their energy on quality not on quantity. Maxokk used to be a leader in this market; and I was quite a happy loyal customer but will not be revisiting again as this has happened regularly in the last couple of years.
