点评：This is the second time we’ve had fish and chips here since the new owners took over last year. We thought we’d give them another go as they should’ve settled in by now and hopefully taken on board the recent reviews. Sadly, if they’ve read the feedback they haven’t anything as a result. All the two star reviews are accurate.
This fish and chip shop used to be amazing - good portions, beautifully cooked food, the batter was light and golden and you always received a nice ‘chunk’ of cod / haddock and for me the best chips ever!
Now the batter is overcooked, it’s hard rather than crisp and a deep brown colour, The fish size is ridiculously small, (medium is definitely small), about 0.5 thick, the batter was thicker than the fish.
Chips were ok, curry sauce and mushy peas also ok but very small portion size.
Service was polite and friendly but we waited an absolute age to get our food ( which we don’t mind if it’s worth the wait - it wasn’t) and unfortunately our request for salt and vinegar to only be put on chips was ignored.
Cost for medium (small) cod and chips plus one curry sauce and one mushy peas was £25.90 - it was not worth that.
Back to Mr Chips we go!
