点评:So, thanks to TripAdvisor we asked our guide about dinner here. She said yes, it's great, but it's really a LOCAL joint. That did it, we wanted to go. So, we had our driver drop us off and we went in -- alone.
No English menus (or even menus), just a little order pad with a list of options and their prices -- you check what you want. There are only 11 bar stools for diners, and you watch the owner grill the skewers over his small hibachi-style grill. They offer, beer, wine, sake, . . . . And looking at the various small plates brought to local Japanese diners around us, there were a variety of options for veggies and meats.
We muddled our way thru, ordering wine and chicken yakatori. Delicious. Then we pointed and ordered more skewers and more wine. Near the end of our meal, a couple of Japanese ladies sat down next to us -- and one of them spoke a bit of English. She helped us navigate our final selection. And we enjoyed a lovely conversation with her as we finished up.
This was probably the HIGHLIGHT of our trip. It felt so authentic. But be warned, this place is small and all the locals know to show up when it opens at 5 pm or you will NOT get a seat; you'll be standing in line outside waiting for a bar stool to clear. Regardless, it will be worth it. (Besides, for one night we got something besides raw fish.) ;-)
