Incredible animal sightings and a warm and luxurious welcome.

点评：We stayed for 3 nights at Lewa House, in Lewa Wildlife Conservancy (reviewed separately). Our hosts, Sophie and Calum, and the resident managers, Jonty and Sarah, offer an exceptionally warm welcome, making guests feel like family friends for whom nothing is too much trouble. Our family of 4 adults stayed in a cottage with two bedrooms and two shower rooms, and a veranda with comfortable sofa and beautiful view. The main communal area is a large thatched sitting room with a big open fire, and comfortable large veranda, perfect for sundowners (all complimentary). The food was excellent - breakfast in the garden overlooking a waterhole, where you can watch buffalo and zebra, and a variety of beautiful birds, as well as monkeys and rock hyraxes. Breakfast could also be provided on a game drive, complete with tables, napkins, and staff to cook a hot breakfast. Lunch at communal tables in the shady dining room, also afternoon tea with homemade cake. Dinner is provided at a huge table, which is a wonderful chance to meet the other guests and exchange stories of wonderful sightings.
Each party has an individual guide and land cruiser, and a morning and afternoon game drive are provided. Guides are very experienced, often Masai living locally, and they are able to drive anywhere in the conservancy to show you wildlife. We saw lions with cubs of different ages, a cheetah, leopards and cubs, elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, and of course white and black rhinos for which the conservancy is famous. This was in 48 hours. Other wonderful things were a bush walk and a forest walk, with a chance to swim in magical pools under waterfalls. My son is interested in birds, and one of the staff spent an early morning hour and a half with us in the compound showing us a huge variety of local birds.
I can't say enough good things about this place, it's absolutely wonderful. Go and you won't regret it.
