点评:There’s no question about the impressive array of French inspired cakes, pastries &
desserts in the cafe. My friend and I shared half a coffee scroll and the coffee was good.
Alas our visit was marred by the presence of a young male sitting cross-legged(!) on the bench seat talking loudly into his phone while working on his tap-top. As my friend and I could hardly conduct a conversation, I asked him if he could keep his voice down. He then replied: “I wasn’t aware this was a library.” I responded: “I wasn’t aware this was a work station.”
He appeared to be a regular visitor to the cafe, as the waitress thought it amusing that he was sitting (for over an hour while I was there) at a table that would normally seat 4. And yes, the cafe was busy with all tables inside and outside taken.
When sarcastically I asked the waitress if he paid rental for this table, she laughed and said ‘yes.’ By this stage, he must have felt guilty as he then ordered a coffee and a toasted sandwich,
As she had little consideration for our comfort, we left shortly afterwards.
I cannot believe how selfish and inconsiderate people have become. And I find it extraordinary that management believe this behaviour is appropriate - or that the comfort of other patrons is irrelevant.
Such a shame, as I won’t be back.
