I realize that this hotel has a conundrum--tell the customer that there is construction and that they will not sleep and lose sale OR don't tell customer and make money, but upset customer and risk review reprisal. This hotel chose the second option. I slept maybe 2 hours last night because of incessant drilling somewhere in the building. It is now 8am and they decided to take a break (so nice of them to take a break when people get up in the morning!!!!). I have lived in this country for more than 20 years and fully realize that selecting option 2 is completely normal in this culture (all about short term business). But I feel compelled to warn travelers about the horrendous drilling sound that the front desk failed to warn us of.
