Imagine if you have 1 foot in the city and 1 foot in the wilderness. Akurholt will fall into this description. The property is about 30 minutes drive from the centre of Reykjavik. You can get a bus (18 towards Spong) and get down at Skyggnisbraut, from where you have to walk 15 minutes up a small hill. The property is enchanting and is surrounded by pristine wilderness. There are horses grazing near by and you can see the mountains far away. Also dont miss the spirt of the house Elsa the Norwegian moody cat. Overall a great stay, also dont miss the riding experience nearby.
Me and my partner stayed at this beautiful guesthouse for 4 nights. The guesthouse has everything you need and has lots of charm. The view is beautiful from sunrise to sunset and is a good location if you have a hire car. The owner was lovely and stayed to chat to us sometimes. Was lovely to see the horses pass by the window too. Thank you for making us feel welcome. Sinead and Zed Stayed 2018
