no matter what your hiking activity level is for hiking the kettle valley trail is an easy walk. just remember to bring lots of water if it's warm to keep hydrated. Beautiful views from the trail
While visiting Princeton, we checked out this trail. It's a nice easy walk to some nice views. We parked behind the Petro-Canada gas station and began our walk. Within 5 minutes, we came across a tunnel. After the tunnel was a nice bridge with a river running under.
We completed the 80 km bikeride that is sponsored by the Okanagan Trestle Tour Company - EXCELLENT adventure and a wonderful day!! It was so well organized with bike drop off, transportation, great support people out on the trail, followed by an amazing barbecue and music by The Goods - great band! I completely recommend this event - scenery views... 更多
We did The Kettle Valley Railway Trail on May long weekend, from Myra Canyon to Penticton in a day, with 4 other families (5 in total), as young as 6 years old. The first 12km (18 trestles) was the most scenic part. Flat and winding. Km 12 to Chute Lake (Km 36) was the hardest, a bit uphill, straight, boring.... 更多
The section with the trestles and two tunnels is stunning and an easy ride. There were a couple of spots with outhouses and benches in this section but not later on. Unfortunately the weather was cool and rainy for a good portion of the time. After the trestles there were long stretches of bumpy trail with lots of potholes and... 更多
Quite a wide trail given it is built on a former rail bed. It is well maintained and well used by cyclists and hikers. On a sunny April day, the views of Okanagan Lake all the way down to Penticton and Skaha Lake were awesome. The orchards were in bloom and the lines of the vineyards presented beautiful photographic opportunities.
I have the privilege of being able to ride this trail several times a year. It may not be a challenging trail, as far as difficulty goes, but there is some incredible scenery, lots of trestles, some tunnels, and lots of really cool history. If you want a bit more of a challenge, it's an awesome ride from Kelowna(Myra Station... 更多
The trail was hard to follow at times as there were lots of side trails both up and down. the poison ivy markers were helpful until we got close to the falls and continued up instead of following the creek. We ended up climbing up a steep crevasse up onto the kettle valley trail. The visitor center had the best... 更多
This was overall a great experience when we finally made it to the top of the dirt road that took us there. Gorgeous views and really interesting terrain particularly after the big fire. You can see the forest rejuvenating. And of course the trestles themselves have been rebuilt. Big question though is why someone doesn't take care of the road... 更多
Fantastic! Cycled from Myra Canyon section down to stay overnight at Chute Lake, then on to Penticton the next day. The scenery was great especially at Myra and the last 25km into Penticton. Make sure you take time to explore the rock ovens between Chute Lake and the long tunnel. Bring plenty of water since you are out of the... 更多
