This place is worth visiting once if you are in/around Vienna. Its accessible by public transport as well. Entrance ticket is 10 Euros and it's a guided tour of around 20 mins. At the end of the tour there's a boat ride. Guide speaks English/Deutsch. Place was used during world war 2 and you get to know the history about... 更多
We travelled from Vienna and really enjoyed this place. It only lasts about an hour but its good value and something a little different to do. Guide spoke excellent English and was very informative. Can see it appealing to all ages but think kids will love it.
We went to the nearby castle then walked to the mine. 11 euros per adult for the tour and a boat ride at the end. It was nice to have a day out of the city and we managed to get everywhere on public transport.
We came here to get out of Vienna for a day of sight seeing. The surrounding towns are very quaint and we thoroughly enjoyed our drive out to Seegrotte. Be sure if you are going to also see the nearby castle 'Burg Liechtenstein' which is literally a 4 minute drive. The tour of Seegrotte wasn't exactly what we expected, but... 更多
The Seegrotte Hinterbrühl tour started with a 450 feet walk into the heart of the mountain through a narrow passage. At the end of the passage was a large chamber where our guide gave us quite a bit of information and then asked us go down steep slides in groups of 4. We half expected not to be able to stop at... 更多
This tour was definitely a special one: never before heard so much nonsense and incorrect information during a guided tour (for which you pay quite a lot!). First of all: despite what they say, this is not the largest underground lake of Europe! Second: information they give during this tour, is incorrect (e.g. no animals can live in the water... 更多
it's one of the most beautiful caves , it's an old mine . and was used during the WWII by the Germans as a hidden air craft factory , the tours takes around 45 minutes. including the boat ride , the place is cold it's 9 degree and you should prepare yourself , in case you forgot to bring a... 更多
This is the most beautiful cave I have ever visited. And not only it's nice also the service is great. The tour guide has fluent English, his words were easy to understand and he was very profesional. Since it's only 9° Celsius in the cave you can borrow a blanket too (for a small fee of 50 cents). The underground... 更多
It used to be a gypsum mine but when it was flooded...it became a tourist attraction. That being said...during WWII...the Nazis used it to build airplane parts..safe from Allied bombs. It has an interesting history and well worth a visit.
The Seegrotte is certainly off of the proverbial beaten path but well worth the trip! The mines are really cool and the underground lake is amazing! I highly recommend it! My only warning is that getting back to Vienna can be challenging. We took a city bus from the Seegrotte to Modling and then caught a train back to Vienna... 更多
