We drove quite a distance from Banff to Bar U Ranch. The reviews were great and we were looking forward to visiting the historic site and getting some hands-on participation in the activities that the website had highlighted e.g. roping, wagon-ride, coffee at roundup camp....更多
The entrance is free in 2017 as part of the Parks Canada promotion. In late May and early June crowds are small. The historical buildings are kept from the golden age of the ranch when it was famous for its Percheron horses.

Out for a day trip and stopped in to check out the interpretive centre. It was a real treat to peruse the info that was available. Pretty incredible history of ranching and living in southern Alberta!
