We stopped here to look around the exhibits in September 2016 - part of the exhibits were closed for restoration but what we could see was really interesting. The staff were very knowledgeable about the local area.
Went in the quiet month of March but this meant that we had plenty of time to have the Kakadu National park explained in the various ways and presentations of this visitor centre.
A great spot to find out all about Kakadu. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and extremely helpful. There's an interpretive area, theatrette, gift shop and cafe.
What can we do in the national park? Where can we start? Are any roads closed this time of year? Many questions were answered and many insights given into life in the Kakadu National Park. Look for the movie schedule for a great visual to get you excited about your stay.
The Bowali visitors centre deserves its reputation as a great place to start your exploration of Kakadu. The staff were very helpful and friendly and gave us good information for our visit to the park. It has a great setup with lots of information, animal displays and artifacts. There is also a great cafe which beats most places in Jabiru for a quick break.
Stopped here to buy our Kakadu National Park pass and had a good chat to the ranger. Walk through exhibits to see, café and lots of leaflets for activities. Plus toilets.
Bowali is a great little place to visit - my toddler loved all the exhibits. It shows the history of Kakadu both from Indigenous perspective and Kakadu's mining history. Its not too big which is great for families. There is a nice little café and I'll recommend the steak sandwichs
