Come and walk, play, and explore on the ocean floor! Burntcoat Head Park is home to the world's highest recorded tides in the world. This three acre park has a replica lighthouse, short walking trails, and lovely picnic areas.

Explore on your own, or as part of a Shoreline Tour led by our friendly and knowledgeable staff. At low tide the shoreline stretches before you revealing pockets of salt water where crabs, piddocks, and mussels patiently wait for the tide to bring the sea back to them. You will explore these tidal pools and the surrounding rock and soft mud for the myriad of life that sustains a delicate ecological balance. Be prepared to be entertained and inspired by the stories and atmosphere of this very special place.

A must see, worth the drive. High tide presents the opportunity to be way too close to thunderous water. Don't slip on the stairs! Would be benign at low tide but would be awesome to walk on the ocean floor. Here you really feel you are at a wonder of the world. Don't miss the easy to drive past sign.... 更多

While the geological features aren’t as impressive as the Hopewell Rocks at Nova Scotia’s Burntcoat Head Park, this small seaside park still offers a great opportunity to explore the “ocean floor” of the Minas Basin at low tide. The large concrete steps leading down to the water are far easier to maneuver than the tight steel steps at Hopewell and... 更多

We went there at the peak of the low tide (check the tides for the day of your visit), so the water was away. The place was not that easy to find. We came from Wolfville and the sign for the Park is relatively small, compared to the sign below. So it is easy to miss, but it is worth... 更多

We travelled from Wolfville to Truro along highway 215 so we could go to this park, but there are great views all along the road (check out Cheverie and Walton). Make sure you check the tide table before you go, because you will want to be here at low tide. You do have an hour or two on either side... 更多

This is a wonderful park with great facilities. They have a lovely picnic area and modern washrooms so definitely pack a lunch and plan to stay for a few hours. I had read that you should be prepared to get dirty if you plan to walk the beach at low tide so we brought boots are were glad we did.... 更多

A small reconstructed light house gives a little history of the area as well as information about the tides. It is all free and you will be all on your own to explore the grounds and walk down to see the highest tides in the world! Be sure to check an online schedule of when high tide and low tide... 更多

I had never heard of Burntcoat Head Park until this year. What a wonderful surprise right in our own province and so close to home. We had a wonderful time exploring and walking around. I just wish we had packed a lunch so we could have spent more time here. We are definitely planning to go back.

Only 90 minutes from Halifax, this park is the place to go if you want to really get a feel for the dramatic tides created by the Bay of Fundy. It is located in a remote area, and if the tide is out when you arrive, you will be treated to a sea floor that looks like hard red clay... 更多

We stayed closer to Halifax but decided to make the drive here based on reviews and it was well worth it! We went during low tide and enjoyed walking the ocean floor and taking pictures of the incredible views. Make sure to either use old rubber shoes or as we did, used aqua socks as the walk can get muddy... 更多

This was the most amazing place it is hard to describe and it is FREE! It was amazing to visit, especially at low tide in late summer. We also visited nearby Bay of Fundy locations but this was absolutely the BEST.
