We played both courses here and found the scenic display very nice. It IS your typical caribbean course in that it's a tight, bermuda grass. We played in February, so it was hot and our balls ran! Both courses are great layouts but very different. Record rains late last year did considerable damage but the staff has done a tremendous job to bring back the courses. Palm is in phenomenal shape, while the greens on Flamboyan still need some recovery. Overall, I still enjoy playing here as much as anywhere in the islands!
Always a feature of our visits to Palmas in the past, the Tennis Club has steadily declined. According to the attendant on duty, they have all of the material on hand to repair the Hartru courts, but they haven't gotten around to repairing them. So they - most of the Club's courts - are not fit for play.
We decided to drive to the resort for the afternoon, after not finding a thing to do in Humacao. We should have driven out much earlier! It looked like a fantastic resort. The staff was very friendly, even while knowing we weren't paying guests. We trekked to the Beach bar, which we enjoyed overlooking the water!
