Great experience and great tour guide. Funny bloke and very knowledgeable like a walking wikipedia. Rock formations looked very interesting, but got better the deeper you got. Bring a jumper if you're not used to the cold because it can get quite chilly. Worth the visit!
We got there early to have breakfast at the café before our cave tour but they were not set up for breakfast and only had one breakfast type food to eat. Our cave trip went well and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Of the three Waitomo district caves, Aranui has the most impressive formations. It also has the most relaxed tour with plenty of time for taking breathtaking photos. The tour starts with a short but energetic climb. Once you arrive at the top, you are welcomed with the brightest limestone beauty which continues throughout the walk. Excellent package deals that combine... 更多
While in Waitomo we visited all the caverns we could and also the glow worm caves with excellent guides. It is a must do experience if in the area. There's a cafe/restaurant on premise and each cavern/cave is unique. We've been to the Natural Bridge Caverns in San Antonio, Texas as well as the Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico (the... 更多
This was a nice tour, a bit of a bush walk at the start with a guide who was able to share information about the history of the area. A really beautiful cave and a different experience from the other two caves at Waitomo.
This terrific cave is a thing of beauty and is now carefully curated. Unfortunately, many of the stalactites have been partially souvenired by tourists from about 50 years ago. It will take a long time for them to grow back to their full glory, but in the meantime it's still excellent.
We were here as part of a package for glow worm caves and aranui caves. Different experience for both. Really enjoyed the fascinating geological formations - the stalactites and stalacmites, the history, the wetas! The guide was ok, friendly but not as informative as the glow worm cave tour guide was. Enjoyed the experience and would recommend to others.
It's a short easy walk in the forest across several bridges over the river and through several caves. It's all paved with stairs and railing so anyone who can master a couple dozen stairs can do it. At daytime it will take you 30 minutes to finish the loop. If you come here at night you will see loworms along... 更多
Thoroughly recommend combining a trip here with the glow worm cave. This cave has far superior stalactite and stalagmite formations than the glow worm cave.
