We wanted to see the Revolutionary War campsite re-enactment on April 23. We thoroughly enjoyed the activities and knowledge of the re-enactors. It was a reminder of the hardships of that war and how amazing those early Americans were. This is also a serene place to walk around and enjoy nature.

The Jockey Hollow visitor center does a great job explaining the conditions George Washington's army had to deal with during the rebel army's difficult Winter encampments. The Morristown encampments were an improvement over the tough stay in Valley Forge. The Army learned more about drainage and sanitation, and illness was much lower in Jockey Hollow. Close to the center is... 更多

Many great hiking trails surrounding and it's never too crowded. Taking a break at the Soldier Huts is my favorite.

I was at a conference in nearby Whippany and had a few days to go exploring on my own. Jockey Hollow is a part of the Morristown National Historic Park and is a beautiful space-- almost hard to imagine the conditions the soldiers went through during the Revolution. Friendly staff in the gift shop/ranger station. Clearly marked trails. Would definitely... 更多

Jockey Hollow comprises buildings that have existed in the area since the 1700s. There are knowledgeable National Park Guides that give talks on the soldiers and civilians that occupied the area. General George Washington mustered his troops in Morristown during the 1770s, and adults and children will thrill to stories told by the Guides, and witnessing the surrounding area.

Have visited here a number of times during the different seasons. Great historic park. The visitor’s center has some information about the encampment, and a good selection of books available. Rangers are a wealth of knowledge about Washington’s troop’s encampment. Must visit the Wick House. There are a number of moderate paths to walk as well as a number of... 更多

Had dinner here for the third time, and it seems to get better every time. They kept bringing out awesome little amuse-bouches from the chef. The prix-fixe is a great deal. I have been to some of the best restaurants around the world, and this one makes the list of the best of the best. What's it doing in Morristown,... 更多

Great place for hiking, walking, running, history, exploring. Fun place any time of year. Soldiers huts, Wick House, and visitor center are always fun. Great for kids and adults.

Lots of marked trails and access to restrooms. Trails are well maintained and there are paved Roads with little traffic. Historical sites like the Wick House and the Soldier Huts make this a great place to see some Revolutionary War History. Also a great Visitor Center with an historical film.

I loved my visit to the Soldiers Hut Trail Jockey Hollow. Even ignoring the history walking the trail was really enjoyable and while it was still very cold I would guess it is still better than trying this in the summer. While the centre and farm house are nothing to write home about if you like being out and about... 更多
