Such a beautiful place; make sure to make a day of it and see all of the Roosevelt-Vanderbilt homestead.

I have taken the tour at Vanderbilt now about six times (we have a lot of visitors) and each time I learn and see something new. Last week for the first time I took the "Behind the Scenes Tour" The tour is amazing (sometimes better depending on your guide) The regular tour takes you through the main level continuing on... 更多

An impressive mansion on even more impressive grounds. A quick walk down to the river and around the grounds took us an hour! We didn't do the tour inside the house as we were more interested in the landscaping which has been meticulously maintained. The mansion also retains a certain charm, it's great that has been open to the public... 更多

If you're in the area, this is worth a look. Overlooking the Hudson River, this is (I'm sure) more beautiful when gardens in bloom in spring or summer. It's a funny house, clearly expensive to built but a mini grand house for the nouveau riche Vanderbilts. That said, the tour guide we had was wonderful and did a great job... 更多

I enjoyed my visit. There were only three other people on the tour with me. January is a slow time for tours for obvious reasons. I thought the house was lovely. I did wish that I could have seen more of the rooms, particularly at least one of the servants rooms downstairs. The grounds must look lovely during the spring... 更多

My girl and I went to this old mansion which quite frankly being that the US Park Service owns this site, the mansion could be in better shape. For the fee they charge each visitor there is no reason this site is in such disrepair however I would assume it is being fixed up via the construction materials and chain... 更多

I was fascinated to learn about the Vanderbilts. Their house is beautiful but rather ostentatious. Still our tour guide shared interesting facts about their generosity to the local community, and especially their own staff. I would highly recommend this tour.

I attended this with my elderly parents and we were all thoroughly entertained. While I find it always more interesting to visit a historic site of a famous individual, this home was still quite impressive and kept my attention for the entire tour. The guide knew his stuff and kept us all entertained with interesting stories, and answered all questions... 更多

We took the 1 hour tour. The guide was very informative. We saw most of the first and second floors, and then a portion of the servant quarters in the basement. They will be opening up the third floor and more of the basement this Fall (2016). The house has been kept beautifully. It was cold so we did not... 更多

We went to this home not knowing that much about the Vanderbilts. After visiting, we are now interested in seeing more of their properties within driving distance of our home. It was so interesting to see how the rich and famous once lived. These particular Vanderbilts lived more modestly compared to siblings and they seemed like they did a lot... 更多
