In a generally low-rise city a 12 storey structure stands out and none more attractively than this lovely construct.
Dating from 1904 it fortunately survived the 1906 quake and firestorms. Viewed from Market St it resembles a majestic ship's bow and presents a terrific scene....更多
A beautiful example of an earlier skyscraper, with lots of history, as we found out on our walking tour.
Once a school, a crime writer lived there, survived the earthquake and lots, lots more. Reminds me of the Flatiron building in NY.

This is an historical building in front of the Powell Street Cable car turnaround station. The lobby is very grand and impressive. The elevators have an old classical design.
There some shops here at the ground floor, otherwise nothing else special.
I actually came here for a tailor housed in the building. I caught sight of some displays on the lobby and started to look at them. Quite an interesting history with background and olds photos displayed. Worth a few minutes for history buffs or those...更多
