Hiking in Kauai is a must...at any skill level. All the Flora, fauna and waterfalls can't be missed! Only thing that surprised me was there were rats at the waterfalls! They were darting in and out from behind big rocks and boulders. Can't blame them...if I was a rat that's where I'd choose to live!!
Great trail but prepare for it with hiking boots and water. Just remember that the trail that goes straight down leads to a return trip that is all up hill.
There are trails from short and sweet to long and hard. Some can be slippery (loose dirt on rock). Bring plenty of water. It can be really hot with no shade and humidity like you have never seen before. There is a waterfall on one of the long hikes, 8 miles I think. The trail at the top, I think... 更多
This hike is quite short, has minimal elevation change, yet delivers a world class view. Be patient...the glorious views don't happen until near the end of the trail, but it is only a two mile hike out to the top of the Waipoo Falls. The trail can be quite slick in or after a rain (clay and mud), so be... 更多
The Grand Canyon of Hawaii is Waimea Canyon on Kauai. The best part of our visit was the hike to the falls. The hike is up and down and is a bit taxing climbing 1000-1500 feet but is no more steep than stairs and is broken up with some flats quite nicely. At the end of the hike, you walk... 更多
This undulating hike is just shy of four miles and has some amazing vistas and photography opportunities along the way. You will end up at the top of an 800 foot waterfall. If you pay close attention you can see goats in the canyon below. Not for the novice hiker, and not for the faint of heart. It is however,... 更多
Steep and slick in spots but we were glad we did it. Lovely waterfalls and wild flowers. Great views of the Waimea Canyon. We got to see feral goats and tropic birds as well.
Actually I was surprised how easy this particular trail was. Awesome views around the way and waterfalls at the very end. Go there if you can!
