I will keep this brief. The trail is enormous. The sheer size alone makes it hard to rate less than three stars. If you are out for exercise, it is a decent place to visit. You will see a large amount of passers-by during peak hours though (careful for those bikes!) I'm most familiar with the trail head in Oshkosh;... 更多
I highly recomend that everyone take a day and ride the trail. I park down by the 41 overpass and head out from there. Check which direction the wind is comming from before you commit biking back south against a northern wind on the return trip will break the will on a hobbyist and make for a loonnnnng walk.
Pleasant ride shade trees ride to Hortonville for lunch gravel path makes for a good workout either biking walking or running. Town of Vinland is an exceptional section of the trail
The trail is close by and easy to find. It loops through the University along the river. The views are great. Takes you through Lake Butte Des Morts. There is a brewery along the trail too. You can take from downtown to the country and ride by cows in 20 -30 minutes. Cross country ski and snowmobiling allowed too.
There are numerous access points to this 32 mile trail. Most of the trail passes through farmland, woods, and marshes. You do get to ride next to the Fox River in Oshkosh. Only one place to eat on the trail (Fratellos in Oshkosh). Even fewer restrooms. It's an easy trail with little elevation and in good shape.
Great trail to be able to connect from Hortonville to Oshkosh and even downtown to the restaurants in Oshkosh. Its great to bike, walk, hike or take the kids and walk the dog. The only downside is there is not many bathrooms along the way. A great way to enjoy nature and all the sights and sounds. Many parking spots... 更多
I rode the north section on 8/22/15 and was pretty disappointed. Trail is Rough, poorly signed and contains a road section that is too hilly for the casual rider. I have rode all the Wisconsin State Bicycle Trails, and this one rates near the bottom. This trail should NOT be rated as a bicycle touring trail. I ride a hybrid... 更多
Great place for a walk with your dog, bike ride, or just a walk...and not too busy. The walk by Lake Butte des Morts is my favorite and then it's an easy bike ride into Oshkosh and lunch at Fratellos, Ground Round, among others
This is a nice trail for biking or walking. However, you do have to be careful on some of the bridges where people fish & don't notice bikes coming or people leave their dogs off leash and you can't tell where they are going to walk. Some areas get muddy after a rain where there is little or no crushed... 更多
