This is a first class museum. Well laid out, good collection, friendly staff, nice restaurant on site and the museum is free. Ample parking. Glad we stopped on our short visit to Norfolk.
Terrific exhibits, free admission, and wonderfully informed and helpful gallery staff. Toulouse L'autrec exhibit was nicely complemented with some of the museum's collection of Japanese prints that so influenced the French artist. The glass collections are a special attraction for which the museum can be properly around.
The museum is having a special exhibit regarding the posters of this artist along with examples of the Japanese art form which inspired him. Of course there is always the wonderful glass collection especially the Tiffany window.
Centrally located FREE museum (donations accepted). Wonderful temporary exhibits. Tiffany glass. Friendly and polite staff (especially as compared with, say, the Smithsonian). We really enjoyed the temporary Toulouse-Letrec exhibit on loan from MOMA.
An impressive collection of art,well worth a visit. From the sculpture outside to the impressive entrance hall (where people were dancing when we arrived) you correctly guess you're in for a treat.
