Want to kill 30 minutes waiting for your x-ray results at Martha Jefferson? Not a bad place to do it. Some rich guy left his collection to UVA. It's Aboriginal. Only kinda interesting.
Stopped through on a visit to UVA. Was pleasantly surprised with the quality of their pieces, and I am happy to say that I learned a lot about Aboriginal art!

Don't let the name of this museum deter you. The art is original, surprising and very beautiful. And if you are lucky you will be there for one of their special events, which are really special.
This private museum houses only aboriginal art, making it a unique experience. If you are unfamiliar with this genre, you will be awestruck by the colors and patterns. If in Charlottesville, it is well worth a visit.

This place is located on Pantops just before you get on the interstate, its tucked away in the hills next to Martha Jefferson hospital. It has some great aboriginal art and they have great art openings with snacks and drinks.
Visited with son, daughter in law and in-law. The artwork was beautiful. I wish it had more. The interactive display was very relaxing, as I could sit and make my own artwork with paints, from stone. The facility is lovely as well. Well worth a...更多
The Kluge-Ruhe Aboriginal Art Collection is on its own campus on the other side of Charlottesville from UVa. We brought a Boy Scout group of 40 and were very pleased with the exhibits and especially the opportunities for the boys to do their own artwork....更多
