We were in Jefferson for the Annual Pilgrimage and Civil War Reenactment. Luminaries were put on the graves of Civil War Soldiers. Very interesting cemetry to visit. Lots of interesting graves and stories behind the graves. Book written by Mitchel Whittington titled "Angels of Oakwood"...更多

We stopped by to mainly see Diamond Bessie's grave but got caught up searching all the history. A very old grave with grave markers dating back to the 1870's, possibly earlier. It is very well maintained.
We couldn't figure out how to get in, but finally found an open gate. We drove around, got out of the car and walked around, and saw nothing of interest. Normally, we love old cemeteries but didn't see anything special about this one. I know...更多
