After a bit of a search we finally found it and then disappointment. We went to the front counter only to be informed that it was between exhibitions and was closed, so why was it open. We then asked about nearby galleries and the lady was not aware of the exhibition at the nearby Oak Hill Gallery.
We are so lucky to have this beautiful gallery in our home town. My daughter and I rode our bikes to visit and enjoyed the latest exhibition on birds. There are papers in the entrance foyer for the kids to do a treasure hunt through the exhibition and the entry is cheap! Thanks MPRG
Quite unordinary gallery - there was no artwork on the walls. Perhaps the new exhibit still in preparation, however we never tried to visit again.
This was a real surprise visit, not only the works on display, which are simply amazing, but the space itself is one of the better galleries in which to contemplate and view the exhibits from a tremendously talented group of artists. A highly recommended and worthwhile visit. No cafe facilities available though!
A well planned and family friendly display of many local artists, with beautiful jewellery, books and cards for sale as well.
Maybe we have been spoiled by the free galleries we have been to in the cities, but having just spent $4pp entry to see the current 'On The Beach' exhibition, it seemed very poor value. Staff were not welcoming or well informed and the exhibition is very tiny. No cameras allowed, so if you wanted a picture for memory of... 更多
I recently visited the gallery for the On The Beach exhibition - lots of iconic Australian works as well as lesser known ones, all on the beach theme. The gallery itself is medium sized with a good gift selection including locally made items (candles, soaps, cards etc) at the entrance and there is a rose garden right next door, so... 更多
A group of friends had been to Ballarat Art Gallery recently to see the Archibald Prize Entries Exhibition and was interested to see the "Rejects" exhibited. They were just lovely and well worthy of being judged in the original group in our opinion. The gallery was small but beautifully displayed and very reasonably priced. The gallery cafe didn't open till... 更多
We popped by to see the Archibald Prize overflow entries and they are well hung in this small and airy regional gallery. A friendly place to stop in, for the art of the moment.
This was my first time to this gallery and the entrance fee of $4 for adults and $2 with a concession was very reasonable. Unfortunately, I was not permitted to take photos inside which was disappointing but rules are rules. I went and saw the "Windows to the Sacred" exhibition.
