We love standing stones and have gone to them all over Scotland from Orkney to the Outer hebrides, but this ring I dont like.

Standing in a field overlooking Etterick Bay
A picturesque drive from Port Bannantyne brings you to the stones. However you could miss them as not really well signposted. Interesting enough but more could be done around them to encourage visitors.
All Standing Stones are full of mystery - who put them there, and why? There is a definite feeling of peace, yet also some spookiness.
If you are interested in Ancient History, this is the place for you.
It is worth checking the location of the car park (right opposite the end of the runway) before travel as is a difficult entrance to see, obviously if walking this isnt so much of an issue.

Overshot the entrance to stones due to broken sign.
Once parked and out of car, we quickly found the stones. Quite weather beaten but sheltered by the trees, they make a short but interesting visit. The information board gave a historic background to their use....更多
The weather broke long enough for a wander around the Standing Stones of Kingarth.
A short walk from the road but far enough for the mystery to envelop you, particularly on a wet and misty afternoon.
Also handy for the airport!!
