Dam and power plant.
Dam and power plant.
This is a large earthen dam with tours that allow you to view the turbines and learn first hand how the dam works. An elevator takes you down, down, down. It is a bit noisy but it is very informative. Stop by the visitor center for hands on educational information on the dam and area wildlife, then go to the... 更多
Not really much to see unless you do the power plant tour, but it is interesting to see the area in general. Person at the site was very well versed on the dam.
We toured this and it was very interesting information. I don't think our kids were as excited about it, but it was well worth our time to gain the knowledge. I don't think that we would do this all the time, but something to refresh our knowledge of every 5 - 7 years as the kids grow.
Just love the lake and the views from every location. From the grebe's in the water to the cows swimming in the edge, very pretty and relaxing- it is a huge lake which makes you feel like you are all alone out there when boating! And we were there over the 4th of July weekend
We had an opportunity to have a guided tour around the dam and to see the dam works on a daily. There was a few of us on the tour all American by us two Brits. The tour was well organised and guide knew a lot about the working of the dam. Well recommended.

There were people swimming down by the lake in what appeared to be a place to put boats in or fish. It was amazingly beautiful as it was very peaceful and close to sunset when we were there. There was a... 更多
We stopped at the visitors center first, a very nice and exceptionally helpful staff let us wander the center waiting for our 'dam' tour. They are very knowledgeable about history, flora and fauna. We recieved a great tour of the 100 + year old chapel/school. Our tour into the power plant of the dam was impressive, but felt a little... 更多

It also has camping cabins, swimming beach and a campground and a small restaurant with a convenience store attached with fishing and camping supplies. There is also a boat dock to go boating or fishing. A great... 更多
