This place was like walking back in time. I strongly recommend coming here, staying here and exploring. Many different shops and the owners are more than willing to share the history.
A lovely old town, perfect for walking, shopping, and hitting some historical saloons. Take a shuttle! What is the point of going to Deadwood if you don't make a visit back-in-time. relive some of the excitement of the gun fights and other sights from the old west!
Staying in Custer but decided to drive up to Deadwood to check out the town. Was a very nice scenic drive coming up and a fun place to wander, window shop, and kill a few hours. Fun little town to sit on a bench and people watch as well. Was a great way to spend an afternoon!
Today Deadwood helps us to better understand the history of this area, is somewhat of an artsy town, and has examples of architecture from a bygone era, all in a lovely setting. It was a fun and interesting place to visit.
Great history of what an old West town looked like during the Gold Rush era and Wild Bill Hickok era. Most buildings are as they were then or restored (as train depot). However they have let a few modern buildings be build in the area that could destroy the image if they are not careful here.
If you ask me, and I'm figuring you are. The country around and in the hills is well worth exploring. Spent 45 minutes in town and 3 days in the hills. Spectacular
