My family and I enjoy this lovely, quiet beach every year. It's the perfect place to walk your dogs, search for shells, swim, and/or hang out and read a book. There are so many kinds of birds in the causeway area, as well as alligators! It's a beautiful place to walk and take photos as well.
This attraction was very good for the money. The beaches were crowded but the other areas where you can view alligators and wetland birds was very nice. The beach is uncrowded and beautiful. The nature center is very educational and interesting withe excellent exhibits and great, enthusiastic park rangers. The facilities are well maintained but could use a makeover. Overall, one of my favorite places to visit!
We ride our bikes through the park or walk through the park several times a week. It is beautiful, serene, interesting and accessible. What a wonderful asset to our neighborhood! Huntington Beach State Park is by far my favorite of all the state parks along the coast of South Carolina with the combination of great swimming and fishing, as well as being only 30 minutes outside of the center of Myrtle Beach. It also does not get nearly as crowded as Myrtle Beach State Park.
