Huge dose of history, shells, and wildlife! Many shells and driftwood are found on the island. We saw a dolphin, 2 alligators, 3 bald eagles, and several cranes. Cap'n Doug gave us a very amusing tour filled with history and humor, and despite being well learned in the history of the area, I actually learned a couple of things! Seeing... 更多
Captain Doug took us through the waters of Georgetown harbour and gave us a fact filled afternoon of interesting information and lots of history. We also had a stop at Hobcow Barony Plantation which was also interesting and laden with history. Thanks for a great afternoon!
The crew provided interesting historical facts about the area on the ride to and from the island. The island itself is beautiful. Laden with driftwood and plenty of shells. Best place to find them is in the water. Be aware that you need to west insect repellent on the boat as the black flies can be very annoying and bite.
Something for everyone. The. Grandbaby loved the shells, dolphins, bald eagles, and alligators . I am a historian and capt rod delivered with a comprehensive knowledge of the area. His family has deep ties to the area. Heard he may retire. You can't miss this
Went on this boat tour with my fiancé. We were the last two tickets they sold for a full boat. It was informative and well worth the money. The tour started as soon as we were in motion. Cap'n Rod was telling the history of the area and pointed out several historic sights along the way. We went to shell... 更多
This attraction is well worth the drive and the money. Georgetown is a very cute old Southern town with a picturesque harborwalk and Captain Rod's boat is the best appointed shelling boat in Georgetown. Booking was easy and Captain Rod is the best- he knows ALL the history of the Georgetown area and he is a great storyteller. We were... 更多
We took this tour last year about this time in April and are here again and going to signup soon while we're in Myrtle Beach. It was so relaxing ,and fun to find shells. Lots of good information about the area, too. Can't wait to go again in a week or so in April 2017.!!
Cap'n Rod, Miss Jane and Cap'n Dave were very nice and knowledgeable about the area. The boat was clean and comfortable, with a bathroom onboard. The benches are metal, so I would bring a towel to sit on. The island they take you to is nice, but we didn't see any interesting shells; mostly oyster shells and those you find... 更多
We took Cap'n Rod's Shell Island Tour and really enjoyed it. The tour was informative and we learned a lot of historical facts about the area. We found some amazing sea shells. Definitely would take this tour again.
