The Florence Stockade (also known as the Florence Prison Camp), provides a visitors a glimpse into the brief period when Union prisoners were kept outside of town. The trail needs some improvements when it comes to markings.

Although we did not tour the house, we went to the re-enactment. Being the first time ever going to one, I was simply amazed and impressed. All the soldiers and their families in "era" dress was so cool! We loved it.
What a wonderful possibility this stockade could be. School children could come and learn about the history and the Confederate States Military Prison. It has great potential but in great disrepair. Very disappointed in the City/County for not appointing money/committee to improve this part of...更多
