Want New York Jewish deli? - Smallman Del on Murray Ave NOT the one in the Strip. Which was disappointing. A wide variety of eateries all down Murray. Also a Judaica shop and a real kosher grocery.(if you can afford the price of the chicken).

a wonderful community of changing restuarants (Asian to Kosher), and changing people. One could live, worship, shop, go to the movies after just a short, hilly walk from home
The shopping area has changed since the opening of the Waterfront. However, there are many restaurants in Squirrel Hill that offer good ethnic food from Mineo's Pizza, Chinese, to the Mediterranean Grill which offers very good authentic Lebanese food to much more.

We sort of stumbled on it visiting Pittsburg - ate at a great little Thai restaurant - and had coffee at the local café - that place was jamming - not a table to be had. Very nice time.
