Visited on a day when the house was closed, which we were unaware of. So we decided to walk around gardens but again these were not particularly inspiring. All in all it was one of the few places we have visited with our National Trust membership where are expectations were not met. However I am sure walkers will enjoy the... 更多
We visited Godolphin while on holiday in Cornwall and despite the rain had a great time and eventually spent 4 enjoyable hours there. We particularly enjoyed the gardens around the main buildings and also went on the bluebell wood tour led by an entertaining volunteer. The fact that many of the main buildings were not open to the public was... 更多
A planned visit to one of my favourite local NT places, despite the precipitation! Never the wrong weather, just wrong clothes as the saying goes! Volunteers still gardening and 'Michael', the bluebell expert handed out brollies so we could share his enthusiasm. Cafe warm & comfy but basic sustenance, if good coffee and cake (nothing much for we gluten free... 更多
Visited for the first time today. Easy to park and very friendly welcome. Went into the house and met by a very nice gentleman who explained the history of the property which was fascinating. It's not the usual type of property as it can be rented out and therefore some of the furnishings are more modern than would otherwise be... 更多
This is not your typical NT big house, immaculate gardens & cafe place. Instead, this is a smaller & gentler place to soak in what the place had been and now is. The 15 minute video is a must as it explains the hows & whys which other reviewers have raised previously, eg - why they chose to convert it... 更多
This house is mostly out of bounds being National Trust rental accommodation. There is the Kings Room to view but to go just to see that requires some purpose. There is access to certain features of Cornish mining history but the link is a bit tenuous and best pursued elsewhere.
The house is available as holiday rental so we were unable to look round. However, the gardens are amazing and the walk up the hill was very enjoyable with the most fantastic views from the top. The cafe is small but the sandwiches we ate were fine and the staff very friendly. The gardens are varied and when we went... 更多
We had our dog with us so went round the garden first full of flowers and in the woods bluebells just coming into flower the walk up the hill is easy with views from Michael's Mount to St Ives put the dog in the car well shaded and had a bit in the cafe with lovely coffee and into the... 更多
The house is let as a rental property and has been hugely modernised for this purpose. Connection with wealthy mining family only lightly referenced. Sorry but this does not work for visitors paying £9 for a handful of modern rooms. Café and toilets. However grounds and walks very pleasant with chargeable parking. Dogs welcome on walks.
