This unique rock garden was started to keep a man busy during the depression. My children and now my grandchildren love to visit this site. Wonderful entertainment for free! Just off the beaten trail.
My wife found this on "things to do in Springfield" and even though it was a cool February day we stopped by. I'm sure it looks a little better in the spring/summer as compared to late winter but was still neat to see the time and detail that was put into the rock designs. Reading the history behind it made... 更多
Interesting attraction. The Hartman Rock Garden is interesting as it clearly illustrates a man or woman's fascination with collecting rocks and building things in their backyard. The garden needs repair and an influx of a sponsor or a charitable donation to really fix it up nicely so that the fountains are working again would add to the attraction. A nice... 更多

Just drive up and take a stroll and see the work this man put into this beautiful garden. We didn't necessarily come at the best time of the year, but still worth the visit.
I can't even remember how we heard about this, but we decided to go see it. It was very interesting, but I wouldn't recommend a special trip just to see it. Make sure you are doing something else in the area because it doesn't take long to see this exhibit.
This was fun! Tucked in a neighborhood, beautifully landscaped and cared for! Amazing that it has been preserved so well. Fun for all ages. A very sweet neighbor named Mary checked on us and gave us each a hug!
This single family home gets a lot of press for one mans hobby of making things out of small rocks. This is for the serious searchers of Americana. All others prepare to see a postage stamp yard full of miniature things made of rocks. It is more than a pile of rocks and a good story, but not much else.
