Anyone interested in the history of Fareham, Portchester, Titchfield areas, will find transcriptions, deeds, maps and other documents available in the research room, which is free to use (after checking with the very helpfull staff). They hold documents and transcriptions which are not available in the local library and can only be obtained from Winchester. Well worth a visit.
We had coffee and cake at the little restaurant within the museum. The pieces of cake we had wasn't good. Rather hard and dry. And for what we received was rather expensive. Unless things change, we won;t return. Staff slightly stand offish.
Obsolutely brilliant but go down to bottom of Market car park first and cross over to rthe Quay, take a picture with mobile from the Quay looking at the railway arches then go into museum and look at model and pictures and see just how fareham has changed.
Nice museum and a lovely little cafe also. Dropped in as a sentimental journey for my wife as she was born in fareham. Enjoyed the museum and the cafe was very welcoming.

Have visited with my 3 & 6 year old grandchildren and found this museum ideal for them. Just enough to keep their interest. During August on a Friday morning there is a craft workshop for the children and my 6 year old grandson really enjoyed this, A small charge for use of materials was very fair. On the first floor... 更多
