During our visit to Martha's Vineyard, we decided to come here, almost as an afterthought. I'm so glad we didn't pass it by. It's about thirty to forty minutes of easy travel from Oak Bluffs, and quite isolated. You'll pass a couple of genuine General Stores on the way. Be sure to stop and look around. The Cliffs hold a... 更多
We went there for a weekend and it was about 40 to 45 min drive either from Vineyard Haven or Oak Bluffs. The Cliff's are very beautiful and the beach is about 10 to 15 min min walk from the shops/parking lot. Very nice place to take pictures of Cliff's, Beach and Gay Head light.
At the end of Martha’s Vineyard, there are find multi-colored cliffs near the Gay Head Lighthouse. The cliffs show different colors of green, yellow, black, brown, red and white. Our bus driver gave us a few minutes to take pictures of these cliffs. The cliffs were carved by glaciers and are part of the Wampanoag reservation. They are protected by... 更多
Lots of time things are billed as unique, but really are just not that special. But, Aquinnah Cliffs are unique and I am really glad to have seen them (10 min hike to beach and then 100 ft. walk down beach to get up close). Take the lower trail down to the beach in order to see the cliffs up... 更多
My best friend and 2 of her children went to Martha's Vineyard for a weekend and this was one of our favorite stops. Beautiful views and access to one of my favorite lighthouses. It has a short walk to an overlook which is breath-taking.
I can't encourage you enough to visit the Aquinnah Cliffs and if possible, the lighthouse. The lighthouse was moved backwards more than a year ago due to the erosion of the cliffs. The view from the top is absolutely spectacular. It is so fantastic, that my son and my daughter-in-law got married on the grounds of the lighthouse. There are... 更多
The Gay Head Cliffs are an essential component to every Vineyard visit. These dramatic and colorful cliffs hovering above the beautiful clear water of Vineyard Sound appear as the quintessential element of every reference in every piece of advertising. No visit is complete without a visit to the Gay Head cliffs.
Really lovely fresh breezes at this spot with interesting history, including that of a giant man (forgot his name). All of the history has to be read. We spent about 30 minutes here. The views from the light house are picturesque. You can see a couple of the other islands from the look out point. Apparently there is a nude... 更多
