We crossed Lake Sakakawea going north from Bismarck and then headed west, eventually getting to New Town and Crow Flies High Butte. The views along the way were beautiful. I drove--the top of the butte has a turn around but no dedicated parking spaces. I left my hat in the car so it couldn't strangle me, since the wind made it impossible to wear. There are a couple of benches at different view points, this is a very nice overlook and the signage is still mostly intact.

In winter it also provides a tobogganing hill of insane pitch - not for the feint of heart.
It is a very special place. If you are nearby, take the time to go.
